ソノノチは、パフォーミングアートをベースに、ビジュアルアートやモダンアートの要素を取り入れながら活動するグループです。空間が内包する膨大な情報を、観客の中に流れる時間や記憶と結びつける独自の演出手法によって、社会との接点を独自の視点から探る作品を発表しています。その創作の背景には、自然や、禅の思想からの影響が大きくあります。物事を固定された意味として捉えるのではなく、関係性や気配のなかで立ち現れるものとして経験すること。静的なもの（沈黙や余白）のなかに生まれる気づきを大切にする姿勢は、私たちの作品の重要な基盤となっています。
作品では、「そこにあるのに見落とされがちなもの」に光を当てます。情報過多の時代において失われがちな感受性や共感力を呼び覚まし、「見る・見られる」ことの意味を問い直す試みです。現代社会における複雑な課題と呼応しながら、観客一人ひとりの主観的な感性に深い問いを投げかけます。また近年は、絵画、音楽、建築など他分野のアーティストとも積極的にコラボレーションを行い、表現領域を横断する創作も展開しています。
Sononochi is a group that works primarily in performing arts while incorporating elements of visual and modern art. Through unique staging techniques that connect the vast information contained within a space to the flow of time and memory within the audience, they present works that explore points of contact with society from a distinctive perspective. Their creative background is significantly influenced by nature and Zen philosophy. Rather than perceiving things as fixed meanings, we experience them as emerging within relationships and atmospheres. The attitude of valuing the awareness born within stillness—such as silence and white space—forms an essential foundation of our work.
Our pieces shine a light on “things that exist yet are often overlooked.” It is an attempt to reawaken sensitivity and empathy, qualities easily lost in this age of information overload, and to reexamine the meaning of “seeing and being seen.” Resonating with complex issues in contemporary society, we pose profound questions to each viewer’s subjective sensibility. In recent years, we have also actively collaborated with artists from other fields—painting, music, architecture—expanding our creative practice across expressive domains.
ランドスケープシアター／Landscape Theater（風景演劇）
内なる時間（inner time）の感覚や、人間が自然の一部として持つ側面への関心から、2020年のコロナ禍にスタートした野外・非言語パフォーマンスの連作。
まるで「動く風景画」のように、日常の風景のなかへパフォーマーという非日常の存在を滑り込ませ、その調和のなかから多層的な時間と記憶を浮かび上がらせる。その日、その瞬間にしか立ち現れない一回性の高い上演であり、自然環境や地域の営みと重なり合う出来事として展開される。これまで山間地域や干潟などを舞台に、国内外で上演されてきた。
- ランドスケープシアターは、「主観としての風景」という考え方を基盤としたパフォーミングアートである。風景（Landscape）とは語源として、鑑賞者一人一人の「主観」で観るものをそう呼ぶ。そのため、鑑賞者は広大なパノラマを自由に切り取って鑑賞する。
- すでにそこにある、自然や人々の営みと常に並行して上演される。
- 鑑賞席はパフォーマーから50〜300メートルほど程度離れており、遠景から眺めるように観る。
- 静的で非常にゆっくりと進行する中で、鑑賞者は徐々に風景をまなざす解像度を獲得してゆく。
- リサーチ、コミュニティ（関係性）、レジデンス、長期間を重視したプロジェクトで制作される。
